Washington wedding wire: Who will get what?
A new poll shows the top-earning families and the wealthiest households will get the most gifts.
More than 1,300 households and business leaders, including former president George W. Bush, will receive $100,000 wedding gifts in 2018, according to a poll released Monday by the National Center for Charitable Studies.
The average wedding gift in 2018 will be $25,000, according the survey.
The poll shows that families who earn $200,000 or more are the most likely to receive wedding gifts.
The survey also found that the top earners are: President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, son Barron, daughter Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner.
The top 10 percent of households are more likely to get gifts than the bottom 10 percent, the survey said.
More than 2.6 million people will get wedding gifts this year, and the average gift will be about $200.
The National Center of Charitable Sciences surveyed 1,800 households and businesses last year.
